Standing in the presence of a mature Oak tree is a humbling experience. They play a significant role in the landscape by providing habitat and nourishment to a diverse number of native species, including the Northern Flicker, Toronto’s unofficial bird. A close examination of their leaves reveal a world of fascinating shapes and textures, a fragile beauty that inspired this painting.
